An international archaeological conference, named “Between East and West. Stobi and the Cities of the Roman Provinces in the Balkans” will take place at the Stobi Winery in Gradsko in the period between 27.09 and 30.09.2018 as part of the two jubilees, 100 years from the first systematic excavations and 10 years since the establishment of the National Institution Stobi. Besides the domestic scholars, the conference will be attended by fifty eminent archaeologists from different countries such are USA, Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Croatia and Monte Negro. The event will be officially open on 27th of September, at 17.45 with the speeches of Mr. Robert Alagjozovski, national coordinator for development of culture in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Spase Perovski, director of NI Stobi, academician Vera Bitrakova Grozdanova, Professor Emeritus James Wiseman, D-r Silvana Blazhevska and Professor Carolyn Snively. The opening manifestation will include promotion of the fourth volume of the re-established Studies in the Antiquities of Stobi where the results from the research of Stobi between 1970 and 2012 are published.
