The terracotta figurines depicting everyday life are among the most interesting finds discovered at the Western cemetery at Stobi. The goat - milker or Caprimulgus is a common genre scene, often depicted in wall paintings or jewellery decoration. In Roman times, the word Caprimulgus is also a synonym for a countryman. Although usually explained as a scene from everyday life, it is not excluded that this is a cult image. The same scene can be found on other places in the Mediterranean, represented on golden rings of much earlier date.
