The bull is the most common animal terracotta discovered in the graves from the 2nd-1st century BC.  Some scholars consider these figurines for toys while others beleive that they were connected with the cults of Dionysos, Serapis or Mithra. The ancient sources mention the bull as a sacred animal amongst the local Paionian  population in the previous centuries.
