Depictions of erotic scenes on pottery (painted or in relief), on wall paintings or in sculpture are common for nearly all of the ancient cultures. They are reflections of everyday life, but are often connected with ritual activities, especially with orgiastic cults or mysteries. This oil lamp, which is a local product, was discovered in one of the graves at the Western cemetery at Stobi.
